Peter Rice is the founder of Clearpoint. He has a background in structured finance (buy and sell side), debt capital markets and derivatives, with over 25 years’ experience as a lawyer and banker.

Peter also advises on economic and financial sector regulations with a focus on industrial strategy.

Peter is a non-executive Director of Te Arawa Fisheries group of companies (NZ) and a technical advisor to the Te Moana a Toi Iwi Aquaculture Programme (NZ).

​He worked at Mitsubishi Corporation Finance plc (London) as General Counsel and Investment Committee member covering treasury (debt and repo funding for EMEA intra-group lending). Peter was part of the alternative investments team covering ABS, RMBS, CMBS, CLOs and fund investments and responsible for the structural and legal analysis.

He has particular experience in dispute and litigation management in connection with debt and structured finance products and derivatives with a successful record in achieving his client’s outcomes in complex fact scenarios.

He worked for UFJ International plc as Senior Vice President included advising the board and managing transaction management teams, advising on debt capital market issues, complex products traded by its proprietary trading teams and hedge fund development. His previous role was with Group Treasury of Westpac Banking Corporation Head Office and Westpac, Institutional Bank, London.
